Teachers make a difference

One hundred years from now the world may be a better place because you were important in the life of a child

We may not be able to change the world, but at least we can try make a difference by giving the future generation their best chance at making the world an even better place.

To teach is to not only learn (twice)

To teach is to not only learn (twice)

As important as it is for a teacher to go through the constant process of learning as the world keeps changing, teachers play a powerfully influential role where they inspire others.

“But I can’t sing!”

Think you can’t sing? Of course everyone can sing! Watch what happens and you’ll see that anyone can sing–they just didn’t know it (osmosis) 😉

True strength…

True strength comes from within

We’re all told to be ourselves. But realistically, we can’t; not because that’s ‘just a fact’, but because we have been inset with fear.

So, I want to give the opportunity for them to be themselves; hence, accept one another for who they are: in my classroom I want to influence all my students with good influences, so that the people they are surrounded by, ie their classmates, have the same beliefs, and thus, they each all have the opportunity to develop their true strength of being themselves.

Too much are we conformed to the corrupted ways of society*, therefore we should provide the chance for future generations to make the world a better place make this “prophecy” possible.

*no offence intended: of course not everything is bad; but rather not all the good is seen enough

The difference between A and F students

The difference between A students and F students is the A students forget it five minutes after the test, the F students, five minutes before

From a Peanuts cartoon strip by Linus

So how great are standardised tests really? More importantly, are grades really what matters; do they really reflect the students’ abilities?

Learning is like an Art

Learning is like an art:
We paint the colours of what we learn like a painting,
And then we frame it behind glass.

Our learning is solid but fragile.
The glass is solid, but still fragile.
When you set something fearful like telling them about a test/exam, it can shatter their self-confidence, creating a crack in the glass—making the painting unclear. It can make the glass shatter, making the painting exposed to turmoil.
